About the NCFC u16 academy team

Tony Flanagan

The NCFC U16 Academy team is awesome to follow! At 15, being a part of or watching that team is really exciting because you’re seeing players around your age competing at a high level, playing with intensity, and developing their skills for the future. The coaches there really focus on technical skills, tactics, and even the mental side of the game, which is super important at this stage if you're looking to take soccer seriously.

One of the best things about being involved with an academy like NCFC is how professional the environment is. The facilities are top-notch, and the training sessions are super focused on developing every aspect of your game. You get exposure to high-level competition, and you’re constantly pushed to improve. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to get noticed by scouts or even work your way into national teams if you keep progressing.

The team culture is really competitive, but also supportive. It’s cool to see how players bond, even though they’re pushing each other to be better. Everyone has big dreams, and it’s clear that a lot of the guys are working hard to either go pro or get into top college soccer programs. It’s motivating just to be around that kind of energy.
